AUTOMATIC ARC SCREEN

Automatic arc screens are designed for coarse screening of industrial and civil effluent to separate suspended materials ranging between 15 and 40 mm in size. These machines consist of a fixed semicircular screen and two/four rotating arms equipped with cleaning combs.

Coarse material is intercepted by the arc screen while a gear motor controls the rotation of the comb-holder arms via the drive shaft. During the ascent phase, the comb cleans the screen and lifts the screened material, which is then moved towards the discharge channels.  The material is finally unloaded into a manually removable container.

Automatic arc screens can be installed directly in medium-small sized channels for carrying out coarse screening operations. The screenings collected by the cleaning combs are forced to roll slowly through the holes. After that, they are lifted and unloaded into a container located immediately downstream of the screen or, alternatively, placed on a conveyor belt and carried away.

SOLIDS ARE INTERCEPTD AND REMOVED

Coarse screening is the primary operation performed in civil and industrial wastewater depuration plants. It has the purpose of intercepting and removing large solids that could disrupt or slow down the depuration processes or the system devices, or obstruct the pipelines. This operation is crucial upstream of lifting stations to protect the motor pumps.

Automatic arc screens are specifically designed for coarse screening of influent sewage. The screening degree is selected according to the type and quantity of material being treated and the depuration scheme adopted.
